About Wetherby
Wetherby () is a spread around town and civil parish within the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, in West Yorkshire, England, close to the county’s attach with North Yorkshire and lies approximately 12 miles (19 kilometres) from Leeds, 12Â mi (19Â km) from York and 8Â mi (13Â km) from Harrogate. Wetherby Bridge, which spans the River Wharfe, is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade II listed structure. The course of the Old Great North Road passes through the town and, as consequences of its situation upon the road, many coaching inns were time-honored in Wetherby which are still used by travellers today.
The town was listed in the 2018 Sunday Times report upon Best Places to Live in northern England.
It sits in the Wetherby ward of Leeds City Council and Elmet and Rothwell parliamentary constituency.
